How To Get a Summer Body!
Summer is right around the corner and we all want those shining abs and toned arms to show off at the beach. You summer body training needs to start ASAP! There is no overnight trick to getting in shape, it takes time and commitment. That being said, here are some tips on how to get a summer body.
Tip #1: Exercise
Our bodies are meant to be exercised regularly. There are many forms of exercise from walking around the neighborhood to training for a sport to HIIT workouts. Find the type of exercise that you enjoy doing most or that helps accomplish your personal goals. Different types of exercises have different effects on the body so identify what your physical goals are then select the workouts that align.
Tip #2: Eat Healthy
As a health coach, I cannot express enough how important a healthy, balanced diet is. You should understand how YOUR body burns calories in order to consume the right amount. The best way to understand this is to take a hydrostatic body fat test which will give you the information you need. For more information on what to eat, book a consultation with me to review your goals and figure out a nutrition plan that works for you.
Tip #3: Stay Hydrated
Your body needs water to function, simple as that. So if you're trying to have your body work even harder to burn fat, you need to keep it hydrated. When people think of how to get a summer body, they often forget about drinking water. I recommend aiming for 100 ounces per day as a starting target goal. Also remember, even though summer consists of fun and partying, drinking alcohol dehydrates you so you need to take this into account.
Tip #4 Get Your Rest
Rest as just as important as everything else on this list. If you don't rest, you aren't giving your body the time it needs to process the workout you just put it through and recover. Overworking your body will not get you closer to reaching your goals.
Tip #5 Get Tested
One of the best ways to measure your progress is to track your body fat. The number on the scale doesn't actually tell you much about where you're at physically. Your body fat is the best number to use as an indication of fat loss and getting closer to that summer bod! Book your next appointment here.
